I  came to China at the beginning of the year to start a new company in TEDA at which I am the only foreigner. I always believe that foreigners should learn some of the language of the country in which they are working. As English is not widely spoken in the town, it became a necessity to learn some Chinese.

I started with Jasmine’s Language School four months ago and under her tutoring have already learned almost 900 words…I am also learning to read Chinese character (most foreigners rely on PinYin). To my surprise it’s not really so difficult…Jasmine patiently explains the origin and structure of Chinese characters and a familiar pattern of usage starts to emerge. Chinese grammar is easy to follow once the basic rules are understood.

Jasmine’s Language School has made it easy for me to learn, she adjusts to my work schedule and also comes to my office to give classes which makes it very convenient for me.

I encourage everybody to learn Mandarin – and to find lots of different ways to practice and learn what is covered during class.
